Buffalo asks a lot of a piece of furniture. Humid summers off the lake, then five months of dry furnace heat that shrinks anything hollow. Big-box tables handle that swing for a season or two before the joints loosen and the veneer starts to lift.
Amish furniture is built the opposite way. Kiln-dried oak and cherry, maple and hickory, joined with mortise-and-tenon and dovetails instead of staples and glue. It moves with the seasons instead of falling apart in them. Buy the dining table once, pass it to your kids, and it still closes flat in February.

Twenty minutes south of Buffalo, East Aurora is the home of the Roycroft. That’s the Arts and Crafts workshop that made Western New York a name in handcraft a century ago. The taste for honest, built-by-hand work never really left the area.
It’s the same idea, still being made. One craftsman, real wood, joinery you can see. When a family from the city walks our floor, they usually recognize it fast. This is the quality their grandparents bought — back when a dresser was supposed to last a lifetime.
We’re a family business too, thirty years in, working with 165 Amish and Mennonite builders across Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. No factory line. No throwaway pieces.

Nobody wants to haul cushions to the garage every October. Amish poly is made from recycled plastic lumber. It won’t rot, splinter, crack, or fade — and it shrugs off lake-effect snow without a cover. Leave it on the porch and forget about it.
It’s a favorite down in the Southtowns and out at the lake houses on Lake Erie. Think poly Adirondacks, gliders, dining sets, and porch swings in the colors you pick. Short Buffalo summers are too good to spend replacing cheap patio sets every couple of years.

Most of a piece’s cost and character comes down to the species and the stain. Here’s the short version of what customers usually weigh. We’ll walk you through the rest on the floor.
Red Oak
Hard, open-grained, and forgiving in a busy house. The workhorse — takes a stain beautifully and shrugs off daily life with kids and pets.
Cherry
Smooth grain that darkens and warms with age. A dining table in cherry looks better in ten years than the day it arrived.
Maple
Dense, pale, and tight-grained. Clean and modern under a light finish — a fit for newer builds out in Clarence or Amherst.
Hickory & Rustic
Bold character with knots and color swings. Right at home in a Southtowns farmhouse or a lake place.
Quarter-Sawn Oak
The Arts-and-Crafts classic, with the ray-fleck grain the Roycroft made famous just down the road in East Aurora.

How an order works: nearly everything is built to order, one piece at a time. A custom table isn’t something we pull off a truck the same week. That’s the trade for a piece that lasts decades.
Pick your wood and finish in the showroom. We place the order with the builder and give you an honest timeline up front. Then we bring it to your door and set it in place.

Yes. We deliver throughout Buffalo, Amherst, Orchard Park, East Aurora, Hamburg, and the rest of Erie County. Because every piece is solid wood, we handle it with in-home setup rather than leaving a flat box at the curb. Delivery timing depends on your build, so ask us for a window when you place the order and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Does Amish furniture hold up to Buffalo winters and dry indoor heat?
It’s built for exactly this. Kiln-dried hardwood is stable through the swing from humid Great Lakes summers to bone-dry forced-air winters, so drawers still fit in February. Big-box particleboard swells in the humid months and sags by spring. A solid oak or cherry table handles decades of Western New York weather and a lot of family dinners.
Can I order a custom size or finish for my Buffalo home?
That’s most of what we do. With 165 Amish builders behind us, you can change the dimensions, the wood species, the stain, even the hardware on nearly anything. It matters here. A lot of Buffalo’s older homes have narrow doorways, tight dining rooms, and wall lengths that stock furniture never quite fits. We size the piece to the room instead of the other way around.
What outdoor furniture survives Western New York weather?
Poly lumber. It’s made from recycled plastic, won’t rot, splinter, or fade, and you can leave it out through lake-effect snow without covering it. We build poly dining sets, porch swings, Adirondacks, and gliders in custom colors. It’s popular with the lake crowd in the Southtowns, and with anyone tired of replacing big-box patio sets every couple of summers.
Do I need an appointment to visit the showroom?
No appointment needed. Walk in any time we’re open, Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
